2, The structure of the CD Rom was designed as follows: A sort of cine-news for commentated images that go over in sequence the 20 main events that characterized the year, from the French May to the revolt in the black ghettos, to the student protests in Italy and Germany. From here there is access to twelve chapters sub-divided by geographical areas, containing a narrative summary, numerous records containing historical and thematic details, documents, images and films: Vietnam, USA, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Greece, England, China, Latin America, Japan, Poland and Czechoslovakia. A general chronology, day by day, in texts and images, carries all the important news of the year, with relative instruments for selecting, searching, consulting. The aim of the project is to provide an instrument of knowledge and study of an historical moment in which, in the dimension of the conflicts and with a shared need for innovation, the most diverse societies and political realities moved with extraordinary synchrony and in dense dialogue with one another, rendering the knowledge of a supernational dimension a palpable and experienced fact for millions of people. This strong interlacement is specifically suited to the multimedial structure both at thematic and at geographical level, but it can only be rendered, in its diversity and wealth, through the constant cooperation of centres of research of various countries and recourse to a number of instruments.
