Documents DB Images DB Archives DB European Institutes		"MEDIA '68" DATA BASES PROJECT One of the central points of the Media 68 project is the formation of a system of data bases which permit both the consultation, with various forms of articulation and levels, of documents regarding 1968 in Europe, and the retrieval of information from some of the most important centres of preservation of documentary patrimonies on the year of protest. The visitors to our site can therefore make use of the following possibilities: An overview of some European institutes and centres of documentation which preserve documentary collections on 1968 and the years of the youth and student protest. Consultation of the Archive data base with the possibility of access to the archival records regarding the collections, folders and in some cases documents preserved at the Archiv für soziale Bewegungen of Freiburg, the Centro studi Piero Gobetti of Turin and the Istituto romano per la storia d'Italia dal fascismo alla Resistenza of Rome. Consultation of the Documents data base, with the possibility of consulting some of the most important documents produced by the students and political movements in France, West Germany and Italy. Consultation of the Photographic data base with the possibility of seeing images regarding 1968 in the world from the “Archivio audiovisivo del movimento operaio e democratico” of Rome. Access to the overview of the European institutes and centres of documentation, to the documents data base and to that of the photographs is completely free of charge; as regards the archive data base, access is free for the consultation of the archival records on the collections, on the folders and on some documents registered and acquired for demonstration purposes with respect to possible results of a search; beyond this threshold the user can request on payment the records for an entire folder and the acquisition - and therefore the possibility to consult- specific documents. To give an example, the user, interested in the documents of a specified folder, can request the records of the documents (at a cost of 10 euro per document) and eventually the acquisition and therefore the possibility to consult some specific documents (at the cost of 5 euro for each page acquired).
